2. What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how MeTalk processes personal data when you visit our public website, create an account, complete onboarding, book or deliver mentorship sessions, connect optional integrations, receive email notifications, or contact support.
This policy should be read together with our General Terms and Conditions.
3. Personal data we process
Account data: name, email address, authentication identifiers, account role, verification status, login timestamps, and security settings.
Profile data: mentee or mentor profile fields such as role, company, goals, expertise areas, biography, timezone, availability, profile photo, and public profile preferences.
Booking and session data: session requests, accepted sessions, scheduling times, session status, notes submitted for a session, and meeting join links generated for accepted sessions.
Communication data: in-platform messages, support requests, and transactional emails such as verification, booking, and session confirmation messages.
File uploads: profile images and other files you choose to upload through supported upload features.
Technical data: device/browser information, security logs, and audit records needed to operate and protect the platform.
4. How we use personal data
We use personal data to create and secure accounts, operate the mentorship marketplace, match mentees with mentors, schedule sessions, send service notifications, provide dashboards, prevent abuse, comply with law, and improve platform reliability.
We do not sell personal data and do not use Google user data for advertising.
5. Google Calendar and Google Meet integration
Mentors may optionally connect a Google account to MeTalk from the mentor dashboard.
If a mentor connects Google Calendar, MeTalk requests access only to the Google Calendar FreeBusy scope needed to read busy/free time ranges. MeTalk uses this information solely to prevent scheduling conflicts when mentees book sessions.
MeTalk does not use Google Calendar data for advertising, profiling, resale, or unrelated analytics.
When a mentor accepts a session, MeTalk may create a Google Meet link for that session using Google’s meeting creation scope. The resulting join link is stored with the session and shared with the participating mentee and mentor for session access.
Google OAuth refresh tokens for connected mentors are stored encrypted at rest. Mentors can disconnect Google Calendar from their dashboard, which removes the local connection record and stops further Google Calendar access through MeTalk.
MeTalk’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where GDPR applies, we process personal data on bases such as contract performance (providing the platform and sessions), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement), consent (where required for optional integrations or communications), and legal obligation.
7. Sharing and processors
We share personal data with infrastructure and service providers that help us operate MeTalk, such as hosting, email delivery, database, authentication, and file storage providers. These providers process data under contract and only as needed to deliver the service.
We may disclose data where required by law or to protect users, mentors, mentees, and the platform from fraud or abuse.
8. Retention
We retain account, booking, and audit records for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations.
When an account is deleted or a deletion request is approved, we delete or anonymize personal data unless retention is legally required or necessary for legitimate security and accounting purposes.
9. Your rights and deletion requests
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.

10. Security
We apply administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls and encryption for sensitive integration tokens. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
11. International transfers
If personal data is processed outside your country, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
13. Google API Services User Data Policy compliance
MeTalk’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google user data accessed through mentor-connected Google Calendar integration is used only to provide mentor scheduling and session meeting functionality within MeTalk, not for ads, sale to data brokers, or unrelated product development.
